Zero tracking
Privacy Policy
The privacy notice describes how data is handled in the Layergram app and on the website: identity and messages are managed locally, with no Layergram server routing conversations. It distinguishes device permissions, the absence of analytics SDKs in the app, and the optional loading of the YouTube player. The platforms used to carry messages apply their own rules.
1. Zero Data Collection Architecture
Layergram does not operate a central server to route conversations and keeps identities, messages, and private keys on the device. Encrypted text is shared through the channel the user chooses. Statements about the app do not automatically extend to transport platforms, which may process data and metadata according to their own privacy policies.
2. Cryptographic Keys and Local Storage
Cryptographic keys are generated on the device, and private and secret keys remain local during normal use. Public identity data, however, is shared to establish contact. Local payload and metadata, including identifiers and timestamps, are stored in an encrypted database; protection also requires the security of the device.
3. App Permissions
The clipboard permission allows you to copy and paste text from the sharing flow. Biometrics or device credentials protect access to the app locally. The camera is optional and is used to scan QR codes. Layergram does not receive biometric data; verification takes place through the mechanisms provided by the operating system.
- Notes: Required to copy and paste cover messages and encrypted payloads.
- Biometrics/Device Credentials: Only needed locally to lock the app and protect the keys. We do not have access to your biometric data.
- Camera (Optional): Only needed if you choose to scan a QR code to share your public key.
4. Third Party Analytics and Telemetry
The Layergram app contains no third-party trackers, analytics SDKs, crash reporting or advertising frameworks, according to the model described in this privacy notice. This statement concerns the app only. It does not determine how the operating system, app stores, or services you choose to carry the encrypted text handle data.
5. Website
The layergram.app site is static and uses no tracking cookies, analytics pixels or profiling tools. In the initial guide, the YouTube player loads only after you press Play. From that point, the video service handles data according to its own privacy policy, which is separate from the Layergram app's policy.
