Both people use Layergram and verify their identities once. You then choose which messages to protect: compose and encrypt the content in Layergram, send the protected form through your usual channel, and let the recipient decrypt it on their device.

Chat encryption and content encryption
Layergram does not enable WhatsApp's end-to-end encryption. It adds a separate layer to text you compose in Layergram before sharing it. The carrier receives the protected form but can still retain contacts, timing and other metadata. To use the keyboard, enable it on iOS or Android, insert the encrypted text and press the chat's Send button.

Encryption makes content readable to the intended recipient's identity. Steganography aims to make hidden content less noticeable: Layergram's app can use a cover message, but technical analysis may detect it. Archiving or locking a chat belongs to the messaging app. These are different choices; the Layergram system keyboard currently offers encrypted text only.

The keyboard inserts encrypted text into the chat input. Then press the send button in your messaging app.

In Layergram Settings, enable “System keyboard”, then complete the Android or iOS prompts and select it in your chat.
You can enable biometric reopening. System permissions, including clipboard access, remain under your control.
