A secondary phone can only be more isolated if it still receives security updates, is reset, encrypted and configured with a few necessary apps.
Reduce what you observe
Turn off helpers and unhelpful syncs, use a short lock, and turn on screen protection. Each component removed reduces a surface area, it does not create invulnerability.
Know the limit
A device abandoned by the manufacturer or compromised does not become secure thanks to Layergram. An external camera and the other person remain outside of his control.
